We are living in tumultuous, troubling times – whether we are anxious about the upcoming election, events in the Middle East, the rise of antisemitic incidents, or we are feeling overwhelmed by the personal and professional demands of our daily lives. So how do we find ways to cope with the chaos and uncertainty of our world? Meditation is one technique to achieve balance in uncertain times that has been utilized by many traditions, including Judaism. Regular meditation practice has been associated with significant emotional and physical health benefits.

Come learn with Dr. Russell Greenfield and Rabbi Lexi Erdheim as they discuss meditation and how you might gently begin a personal practice. Evidence will be presented, and brief group meditation experiences will be offered. Resources for learning more at home will also be shared. Lunch will be provided.

Dr. Russell Greenfield was among the first physicians to train under the direct guidance of Dr. Andrew Weil and has been practicing Integrative Medicine for over 25 years. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. During his career he has directed Integrative Medicine initiatives for both academic and community health care systems. He was editor of Dr. Weil’s book, Mind Over Meds (2017), and has consulted with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).

With gratitude, this program is provided with generous support from Stacey Marshall.
